Repair or replace
Two things decide it. Size, and where the damage sits.
A chip under the size of a quarter fills and cures fine. So does a crack shorter than a dollar bill. Past that, the resin can’t carry the load and the repair fails later, usually at the worst moment.
Position overrules size. Damage sitting in the driver’s line of sight gets replaced even when it’s small, because a filled chip leaves a faint distortion, and a distortion directly in front of your eyes at highway speed is worse than the chip was.
One Phoenix-specific reason not to wait. A windshield that’s been sitting in a parking lot all afternoon is far hotter on the outside than the inside, and the moment you start the car and run the air conditioning on full, that gap widens fast. The glass expands unevenly and a chip that had been stable for weeks runs. If you’ve got a chip, book it before the next hot afternoon rather than after.
If there’s a camera behind your mirror
Most vehicles built in the last several years carry a forward-facing camera mounted to the windshield, and the lane keeping, adaptive cruise and automatic emergency braking all read the road through it. Take the glass out and the camera’s reference point moves. Put new glass in and it has to be recalibrated, or those systems are measuring against the wrong baseline.
Dynamic calibration takes 45 to 60 minutes. Static calibration takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Which one your vehicle needs is set by the manufacturer, not by us.
This isn’t optional and it isn’t an upsell. A camera that thinks the road is somewhere it isn’t will brake for something that isn’t there.
Insurance
Under Arizona law (ARS 20-264) you choose the shop, not your insurer. If a claims line tells you where to go, you can say no and name us instead.
We bill insurers directly, so in most cases you don’t pay us and then wait to be reimbursed. What you owe depends on your policy, and we’ll tell you before we start rather than after.
Mobile service
Mobile service is free anywhere in Maricopa County, and we work within a 50 mile radius of the shop. We come to your house or your workplace, and you don’t need to arrange anything beyond a parking space with room to open the doors.
You can drive one hour after installation. The adhesive reaches full cure at 24 hours. Skip the car wash that first day and leave a window cracked an inch so a slammed door doesn’t push against the fresh bond.
What we don’t do
We’re a glass shop, so the line is worth drawing. We don’t work on power windows, regulators, motors or switches. We don’t do vent glass or quarter-panel vent glass, and we don’t do mirrors. If your window won’t go up and the glass is fine, the problem is mechanical and we’re not the right call.

Do I have to use the shop my insurance company recommends?
No. Under Arizona law (ARS 20-264) the choice is yours, not your insurer’s. You can name any shop you want and the claim proceeds the same way.
Does a new windshield need to be recalibrated?
If your vehicle has a camera behind the rear-view mirror, yes. Lane keeping and automatic emergency braking read the road through that camera, and replacing the glass it’s mounted to moves its reference point.

How the quote works
Tell us the year, make and model, and we research the vehicle before we quote it. Two cars from the same year can take different glass depending on rain sensors, heating elements, acoustic interlayers and which camera package they left the factory with, so guessing produces a number that changes when the truck arrives.
You get a written quote, and nothing is owed until you have it. On auto glass we don’t take a deposit.
