About Superior Replacement Windows

Superior Replacement Windows is a family owned glass company in Phoenix. We have been measuring, cutting and setting glass across this valley since 2010, and the same family still runs it. There is no call center in another state. The person who picks up the phone works in the same building as the glaziers who will show up at your address.

Glass is the entire business. Not roofing, not remodels, not general repairs with glass bolted on the side. Everything below is an attempt to tell you exactly what that covers, exactly how a job runs, and exactly where our work stops. If you are trying to decide whether to call us, the limits are probably more useful to you than the sales pitch.

Three sides of one glass company

Our trucks split three ways on any given morning, and the crews cross over between them, because the skill underneath is the same: measure the opening, get the right lite, set it so it seals and stays sealed.

Houses and condos. Broken panes, cloudy dual pane units, sashes that will not stay up, patio doors that need two hands and a shoulder. That side lives under our residential glass services, with detail pages for home window repair, foggy window repair when a seal has failed, sliding glass door repair, and glass shower doors when a bathroom is being redone.

Buildings and tenant spaces. Property managers, general contractors and building owners call us for the glass a business cannot operate without. That work sits under our commercial glass services, and the pieces people ask for most often are storefront glass replacement, emergency board up after a break in, and interior office partitions.

Vehicles. Windshields, door glass, back glass, and the camera recalibration that a modern windshield now drags along behind it. What is on the truck when we pull up

A large part of finishing a job in one visit is what the technician is already carrying. Our vans are loaded to handle the common failures without a second trip:

• Stock single pane glass in the thicknesses most Phoenix homes and storefronts use, cut on site to the opening
• Setting blocks, glazing tape, structural and weatherproof sealants, and the backer material a proper seal needs
• Spiral and block and tackle balances in the standard lengths, plus the clips and shoes that go with them
• Sliding door and window rollers, keepers, latches and track cap, which is what most stiff patio doors turn out to need
• Urethane, primers and the cut out tools for auto glass, along with molding and clips for the common makes
• Screen frame stock, spline and mesh for insect screen rebuilds

Anything cut to your opening, a custom insulated unit, a tempered piece, an odd shape, has to be made for you. That is an order, not a truck stock item, and we say so at the measure rather than after you have paid.

How a job runs from your first call to the finished install

1. The call. Tell us the address, what broke, and roughly what you are looking at. A photo helps more than a paragraph. For auto glass we need the year, make, model and whether there is a camera mounted behind the rear view mirror.
2. The site measure. For home and building work a glazier comes out and measures the opening rather than the frame, because glass sits inside the visible opening and the two numbers are not the same. Nothing is owed for that visit.
3. The written quote. It comes to you in writing with the glass type, the hardware, the labor and the lead time on it. You owe nothing until you are holding that quote and have read it.
4. Approval and deposit. On residential and commercial work we collect half up front once you approve, and only then does the glass get ordered, because a lite cut to your opening fits nobody else’s building. Hardware and stock sliding door glass are the exceptions. Auto glass takes no deposit at all.
5. The install. We give you a date at the point of order, not a vague window. The technician cleans up the old glass, tests the operation in front of you, and tells you how long to leave it alone before you slam anything.

The step people skip past is the fourth one. A deposit is not a hold on your goodwill. It exists because custom glass cannot be resold, and we would rather explain that once than surprise you with it. The whole sequence is covered in more detail on our frequently asked questions page.

What we do not do

This list loses us some calls, and it saves everyone else a wasted afternoon.

• We do not fabricate window frames. We replace glass into frames and we replace complete windows, but we are not a millwork shop building custom frame profiles from raw stock.
• We do not do stucco, drywall or painting. If a window opening needs patching, texturing or repainting around it after the glass work, that is a different trade and you will need one.
• We do not supply solar screens or security screens. We rebuild and rescreen insect screens under window screen repair, and that is where it ends.
• We do not repair power window mechanisms. We can replace the door glass in your car. If the regulator or motor is what failed and the glass is fine, a mechanic is the right call.
• We are not handymen. No door hanging, no locksmithing, no cabinetry, no odd jobs while we are there. Glass and glazing hardware is the whole trade.

Awards are not why anyone should hire a glazier, but they do tell you the company has been around long enough to be measured.

Where we work, and the shop itself

We run a 50 mile working radius out of the Phoenix metro, which reaches Buckeye on one end and Apache Junction on the other, and takes in Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Glendale, Peoria and Surprise along the way. Mobile service inside Maricopa County costs nothing extra.

Our shop and dispatch address is 4202 E Elwood St #21, Phoenix, AZ 85040. It is a working glass shop with racks, a cutting table and vans, and it is not set up to receive customers, so please do not drive over to look at samples. Everything you would want to see gets brought to your address instead. Office hours are weekdays, 7:30am until 5:00pm.

Questions people ask before they hire us

Who shows up at my house on the day?

An employee glazier from our shop, in a company van, not a subcontractor we found this morning. Our technicians carry a minimum of five years in the trade, and the auto side holds ADAS certification for camera recalibration work.

Where is your showroom?

There is not one. The Elwood Street address is a shop and a dispatch yard. For glass shower doors and anything where finish and hardware matter, the samples come to your bathroom, where the light and the tile are, which is a better place to choose them anyway.

Are you a franchise or part of a chain?

Neither. One family, one Phoenix location, running since 2010. That is also why we will tell you honestly when a job is outside what we do rather than sell you into it, and why we keep a short list of trades we hand work to on our partners page.

Do you charge for an estimate?

No. A glazier comes out, measures, and you get a written quote. There is no charge for the visit and no obligation attached to the quote.

How long has the company been doing auto glass, not just windows?

The name says windows because that is where the company started, but auto glass has been a full department for years, with its own technicians, its own urethane and its own calibration equipment. It is not a sideline bolted onto a window company.

What backs up the work after you leave?

Our installation carries a lifetime limited warranty. It runs as long as you still own the property or still own the vehicle, and the terms are laid out plainly on our warranty page.

Can you handle a whole building, not just one pane?

Yes. Multi unit properties, tenant improvement packages and full storefront systems all run through the same crews. If the scope involves structural framing or permits beyond glazing, we will tell you at the survey which parts are ours and which are not.
