Two time winner of the Best of Houzz award for service
Houzz gave Superior Replacement Windows its service award a second time, for the year that followed our first one. Two consecutive wins is a different statement from one. The badge and the reviews behind it are on our Houzz profile.
Why a repeat matters more than a first
Any shop can put together twelve good months. Doing it again, immediately, with a bigger book of jobs and no reset in between, is harder, and it is the part of this that we think is worth reporting. Houzz sets eligibility rules for the service award and then rebuilds the picture from scratch each cycle out of what homeowners posted about the work. Nothing carries over from the previous year. The 2017 award we wrote about in our first Best of Houzz announcement counted for nothing toward the second one.

What Houzz was measuring
Ratings on the platform move as homeowners post, so a professional’s standing is not fixed at the moment of an award. It reflects how the whole set of jobs went, including the ones that went sideways and had to be put right. Glass gives you plenty of chances to fall short: a measurement taken wrong, a unit that arrives from the fabricator with a scratch, a door that needs a second visit because the frame moved. What people were scoring was mostly recovery and communication, not perfection.
Second awards also tend to arrive when a company has grown, and growth is where service usually slips. Between those two years we were sending crews further out and taking on more commercial glass work alongside houses, which meant more scheduling to get wrong. Holding the rating through that is the reason the second win reads as a better signal than the first.
